Zach Howell was the national chairman of the College Republican National Committee (CRNC). A native of Sandy, Utah, he was elected in June 2009 at the CRNC's biennial convention, in Washington, DC, by delegates from states nationwide. The CRNC is one of the leading 527 groups in the United States, and provides field support for Republican and conservative causes nationwide. During Howell's tenure, the CRNC coordinated a large deployment of student volunteers to Virginia, for the 2009 gubernatorial election in support of Bob McDonnell (as well as his running mates Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli). The field program also assisted with the other major general-election effort that year, for New Jersey gubernatorial nominee Chris Christie. After Republican victories in both of those bellwether races, Howell's administration targeted the Fall 2010 CRNC field program towards specific states, which they believed contained the greatest potential for state-level and congressional gains, in the November elections. Howell's leadership of the CRNC also marked the first time that the organization launched national television ads, as part of an effort to energize young Americans, many of whom they believed were frustrated with the Obama administration's fiscal and economic policies.〔Taylor, Jessica. "(College Republicans launch first-ever TV ad )." ''Politico''. September 21, 2010.〕〔Boyle, Matthew. "(College Republicans ramp up youth voter targeting efforts with new ad in Iowa )." ''Daily Caller''.〕 A large focus of the CRNC's message during the Obama presidency has revolved around the national debt controversy. In 2010, the CRNC launched its "(Don't Put it on Our Tab )" initiative,〔(Ohio College Republican Federation )〕 with Chairman Howell warning that "America is not too big to fail" - and drawing a comparison to the European sovereign debt crisis.〔Howell, Zach. "(America is not too big to fail )." July 13, 2010.〕 Zach has also served as a contributor to ''Fox News'', ''MSNBC'', and ''POLITICO''.〔"(Arena Profile: Zach Howell )." ''POLITICO''. Accessed July 27, 2011.〕 A graduate of the University of Utah, Howell has previously served as the statewide College Republicans Chairman, and as the CRNC Western Regional Vice-Chairman. He has also interned in the White House Office of Strategic Initiatives, and in 2008, managed the campaign of David Clark, Speaker of the Utah House of Representatives. Howell will conclude his two-year term in August 2011, following the College Republican National Committee Biennial Convention in Washington, D.C.〔Whitley, Jason. "(Utah's Zach Howell Concluding Two-Year Term As College Republican National Chairman )." April 25, 2011. Retrieved June 13, 2011.〕 Currently Zach Howell is employed as House Representative Ben Quayle's press secretary and serves as the Treasurer of the International Young Democrat Union. == References == 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Zach Howell」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
